ALVIN BLACK III

Alvin has been a DJ with fig since the summer of ’07, having worked events ranging from house parties, to corporate holiday parties, to 400+ person weddings. In addition to the standard fig training, his personal favorites to spin are hip hop, soul, top 40/dance, and world music. An avid salsa dancer, Alvin loves any oppportunity to play salsa, cha cha, bachata, and cumbia.

Favorite Venues: Drake Hotel, W Hotel rooftop, the University Club, the House of Blues, and the Sheraton (downtown Chicago)

Favorite Artists: Ray Barretto, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, Hector Lavoe, Esperanza Spalding, Les Nubians
