HAFEEZ SARUMI

Being born and raised in Chicago, with the cultural influences of my Nigerian-born parents, I grew up with a rich and diverse taste in music. From the Yoruba music of Lagos, to the stylings of the King of Pop himself (Michael Jackson), there was never a shortage of music in our house. There was never a shortage of dancing in our house either! My family always knew how to have a good time. If there was music playing, and we were feeling it, we danced. Simple as that. It’s something I carry with me in deejaying. You’ll often catch me grooving behind my DJ setups during a set! I love the effect music has on me. I know it’s a mutual feeling shared by the crowds I DJ for, and that connection is golden to me. I love it!
